Poetry (85)

Hello Escritori,

Here’s this week’s Sunday Poem:

In love,

We’re less like fools

Than people with grown up priorities

Tackling our inner children’s emotions

And insecurities

Yet wanting to share with each other.

And through all of this

The sole goal is

To be happy

Inner children

Knowing with certainty

That if we had been born contemporaries

Unfettered by distance

We would have been friends

At the very least, even then

And played all summer.

There’s a certain beauty

In something that is

Inevitably right.

It grants an ageless grace

And a timeless ease

Between us. Inside.
